Meine große Klappe. Die Zweite.

17 days passed and I haven't been running once. Three more months to go .

Women Treatment.

And what do we learn from it ? Always treat 'your doll' right! ;-)

Escape from New York.

'Call me Snake.' In German known as " Die Klapperschlange ". Written by John Carpenter in the 70ies. Carpenter had to wait until 1980 to realize the movie himself because everybody else thought of it as too dark and brutal. Snake Plissken, the main charakter and the movie itself got cult status. I haven't seen it for years. I really had fun watching it again. The technical equipment e.g. monitors, computers, plaines etc. shown in the movie are great. Many camera moves have reminded me of todays typical ego-shooter aesthetics. The sound created a very intense athmosphere. Outstanding as well are the decoration of the cars. ... You gotta see what I am talking about!

Things to do in 2009? One.

Angrillen - trotz einiger Startschwierigkeiten - erledigt! =)

My First Icehockey Game.

Image
I have been to the game Eisbären Berlin vs. Iserlohn Roosters in the new O2-World in Berlin. It reminded me a bit of basketball games from Alba Berlin. But on the other hand it was something new. I didn't knew any rule or fan singing. Luckily a friend of mine could tell me the basic principels. The final score has been 2:2. So I had the enjoyment of 5 minutes overtime and since non of the teams have been able to get the puck into the goal I even saw a penaltyshooting. And that all at the first game I was experiencing live. It was fun! And eventually the Eisbären won ! It is a special (non describable) excitement when you experience something for the first time. I wish I could have that more often.

Spanish Lessons.

A good friend of mine lives in Spain. I visited her a couple of years ago. It must have been 2004. But I promised her to learn Spanish since our farewell in the US in the year 2000. I have never really forgotten that promise. I took a beginner class - twice! But never got beyond that stage. To keep me motivated to reactivate some of my Spanish knowledge I bought myself an 'everyday calendar' with mini spanish lessons. So far I mostly liked the adages: for New Year : " El que logra empezar un camino lo tiene ya medio hecho. " * Seneca January 12th: " Se es más asclavo de los débiles que de los fuertes. " ** Enrique Jardiel Poncela --- *Who manages to start an alley accomplished already half of it. **You are more slave to the weak than to the strong.

Meine große Klappe. Die Erste.

Oh dear, last year I claimed that a good friend of mine should tell me early enough where and when she wants to participate in a public run (not in the last minute). Now she did! She asked me today if I would join her for a One-Third-Marathon right through Potsdam in about 3 1/2 monts. Damn... I can't think of a good excuse. And why should I? I am going to accept the challenge!
